Wow, I'd just defined Cyber Crime 2 weeks ago and here's a case already. My friend just got an e-mail from someone, who was attempting to get his personal details. If you don't know what is Cyber Crime, read here.
Briefly, my friend got an e-mail claiming to be from Asiasoft, which is the host for the hot 2D online game, MapleSEA, or known as Maple Story. The e-mail said that his game account had been suspended and please could he provide them with his account password and id in order for it to be reactivated. My friend knew at once it was a fake and posted it on MapleSEA's game forum. Thus, decided to write about it. Here's the e-mail he got.
Great, eh? Scammers are getting worse and worse everyday. My friend was half amused, half mad at this e-mail. And here's what my friend replied.
Nice one he did. We were all howling in laughter after he sent this. Maybe he was a bit rude but never mind, the scammer deserved it. Later, one of us gave the scammer a taste of his own medicine.
Too bad the scammer didn't fall for this.
Anyway, just want to remind others that never give out personal information while on the web. Be careful at all times.
