5 Reasons Not To Get a PSP Go

The PSP Go, released by Sony, was supposed to be a improved version of the older PSPs, while attempting to win over the market currently dominated by Nintendo. So far, its great features have encouraged much players to get one, and the sales are quite good. Too bad, it doesn't win my favour, and i can give lots of reasons why not to get one.

5 Reasons not to get a PSP Go

1) The design. To be frank, the design really sucks. Why change to a slide design when the current design is doing good? The slide design is really hideous, which gives the sides of the screen a bare look, if you know what i mean. Besides, the new design makes the PSP Go hard to get used to, which PSP users should have already experienced. Sony is just asking for trouble by making this change. and here's a comparision of a PSP 3000 and a PSP Go.

2) Games have to be downloaded. Ok, don't get me wrong, i like this feature, but it sucks if you don't have a wifi connection. I have one, so its not any trouble for me, but if you don't have one, then good luck finding one. Try walking on the street, looking if any of your neighbors are generous enough to provide an open network. Of course, you can stop over at a McDonalds, Starbucks or whatever, but you'll have to spend quite some bucks, for each download takes above an hour.

3) Games can't be traded, transfered. Once you've downloaded a games, you're stuck with it for life. You can't loan it to your friend, you can't trade it back and you can't resell it. To make matter's worse, if you want a new game, and your PSP Go just hasn't enough space, you'll have to delete either games which you spent your money on.

4) The price. Ok, the price has me totally freaking out. $249? That costs a bomb and i'd rather get a Nintendo Dsi, which is much cheaper, or a PS3, which costs just $50 more. Besides, PSP has a much large screen and better graphics to enjoy. Sony is just asking to much for their products. 

5) Unavailability of UMDs. There goes the money you spent on buying UMDs. I'd rather stick to the older PSP 3000, which UMDs can be played, and also, pirated games! Besides, UMDs can also be resold or traded. By purchasing a PSP Go, the UMD's you have are nothing more then rubbish, for they can't be used. 

For me, I'd rather get a Nintendo Dsi, which features larger series of games, while the price is cheaper. Just my 2 cents.

5 Reasons to get a Nintendo DS LL / XL

Well, I've introduced the latest product of Nintendo here, but i forgot to say about its pros. I don't want people to be lacking reason to get it, thus i decided to make it up.

5 Reasons to get a Nintendo DS XL / LL 

1) The screen size. Undoubtedly, the bigger screen size will make your gaming a better and more exciting experience. Besides, games requiring precise and accurate touch screen usage will also be much more easier to play. I've noticed that sometimes, i have to try for 10-20 minutes just to get a tiny, weeny button clicked when using a Nintendo DS Lite. Yah, i admit that I'm a bit clumsy. XD

2) The fashion. Just the fashion. It's unexplainable, but you just like following up to the latest fashion, right? Well, since the Nintendo DS LL is the latest, why not try it out? Maybe you'll find it even better than you've thought.

3) Longer battery life. Surprisingly, the Nintendo DS LL has an even better battery life, after the burden of those amazing features. I quite expected the battery life to go down a lot, but i turned out wrong. The battery life of Nintendo DS LL even went so far as to winning the DSi by 1 hour at maximum brightness.

4) The size. Ya, i know i've said that the size makes it un-pocket-compatible, but don't forget those who have big hands. Users with big hands have complained that playing for long periods makes their hands sore and pain. The Nintendo DS LL is just the ticket for their problem! No more hand pains, just exciting game play. Hurray!

5) It's an improved replacement for the DSi. Briefly, what DSi has, Nintendo DS LL has, and what DSi hasn't, Nintendo DS LL has. Any problems encountered on the DSi will have been fixed on Nintendo DS LL. This makes the Nintendo DS LL a perfect gaming console to get. Besides, it comes with several pre-installed programs, which you can spend your free time on.

Nintendo DS LL / XL

Nintendo fans are in for a surprise! Recently, Nintendo has confirmed that their latest series of the DS family, Nintendo DS LL, will be released in November 2009 in Japan. A rumored date is at the 21st of November, but it hasn't been confirmed yet. In the Europe area, bad news, the Nintendo DS LL, also known as Nintendo DS XL, will be on sale only in the first quarter of the year 2010. The price is set at 20,000 yen, or USD 230.

The Nintendo DS LL features better then the current Nintendo DSi. Here are the features of it, compared to older models.

The console comes in 3 three colors, Wine Red, Dark Brown, and Natural White. Each new handheld in Japan will include several pre-installed applications like the DSi Browser, Flipnote Studio, A Bit of Brain Training: Arts, A Bit of Brain Training: Science, and Kiyou Akira Rakuhiku Language Easier.

Compared to Nintendo DSi, the Nintendo DS LL is a lot more bigger, making holding more comfortable. Besides, the bigger 4.2 inch screen also makes the touch screen much more easier to use. Despite the increase in size, the battery life of LL also surpasses the previous DSi. The Nintendo DS LL is supposed to run for 13-17 hours on lowest brightness, while 4-5 hours on max brightness, 1 hour longer than the DSi.

Cons of Nintendo DS LL

And here's some cons of the Nintendo DS LL in my personal view. No offense to Nintendo fans.

1) The size. The increase of size may make it easier to play, but don't forget, what's the DS made for? It's made to play games while on the go. Nintendo ought to make the Nintendo DS LL pocket-sized, instead of increasing its size.

2) No GBA slot. Although GBA has already been off the market for more than 4 years, but Nintendo shouldn't take this function as a waste. Of course, you can buy a flashcart to play GBA games, but that's going to cost you some bucks. I know lots of my friends, who stuck to Nintendo DS Lite just because of the availability of playing GBA games.

3) The weight. Again, Nintendo has forgotten the meaning of a game console. Nintendo DS LL is 100g heavier than Nintendo DSi. They really should focus on the pocket-compatibility of the DS series, instead of making it more and more like a miniature laptop. I dare say that the great features of LL had an influence on its weight, so its ok.

In a nut shell, the Nintendo DS LL sounds promising, with such great features. I can't wait for it to come to my area. Too bad, I'll have to wait.

PS3 Games

Just an introduction on 3 PS3 Games i happen to stumble on. Hope you like it.

1) God of War 3

Undoubtedly, God of War is the most anticipated PS3 game of all. This time, God of War 3 is back with even better graphics, surpassing its former God of War series. This time, the size, quality and grandeur of the scene will be 4 times better than God of War 2. Kratos can fight enemies while riding. Besides, the character graphics will be even better than the last, etimated to be 4 times finer, which will undoubtedly make God of War 3 a bloody game, bringing excitement to gamers.

Besides better graphics, God of War 3 shows an improvement in its plot. As usual, the plot revolves around the ancient Greece, plus the war among gods this time. Well, i haven't played it, but i know that there's a new god, Hades. Undoubtedly, gamers will have their time full playing it. As the finishing chapter of the PS3 God of War series, it promises excitement, joy and fun.

2) Modnation Racers

Modnation Racers is a PS3 racing game released by Sony in the 2009 E3 game fair. Although its not any cuter than Mario and the others, still, it's a good game for PS3. Gamers can link their PS3 to the web and compete against their friends throught it. Besides, gamers can also create their own race track and share it with others, just like Counter Strike.

3) Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves

Uncharted is back! In this game, player will be playing as Derek, or Derrick ( not sure of the name ), following the 13th century famous explorer, Marco Polo tracks. Gamers will experience a series of dangerous events and surprising happenings before finding the jackpot, that is, the great treasure, while crashing the criminal organization and their evil plot. Scenes vary from sandy beaches, where gamers start to snow worlds, giving gamers much enjoyment and fun. Better look foward to it!

Apple Apps Store Downloads Breaks 20 Million

Old news, can't find anything to write about today, not enough time anyways, because i'm busy getting ready for my exam. Anyway, just happened to see this bit of news on a clipping of newspaper i had. So, i decided to write about it.

Apple Apps Store has finally broke the 20 million sales bar! About a month ago, Apple offically released the news that the Apple Apps Store has broken the 20 million download bar, after being launched for 1 year. Looks like the lauching of I-Phone was a good idea.

Currently, there're around 125 thousand developers, which have already contributed roughly 85 thousand applications for the Apple Apps Store. Applications are divided into 20 major groups to be downloaded by Apple Ipod Touch and I-Phone users all around the world. Currently, there's a grand sum of 50 million I-Phone and Ipod-Touch users around the world. Surprised?

Ipod Opens Its Eyes

Ipod finally opened its eyes! Recently, Apple released a new series of Ipod Nano, plus a camera on its back and a few more great features, such as a speaker and microphone. Now, Ipod users can take pictures anywhere, anytime. Cool, isn't it?

The new Ipod Nano comes with a 2.2 inch screen. After taking pictures, users can view them at once, through the Ipod. Besides, users can also link them through a USB cable to your pc, upload your pictures, movies and share them on the web. Besides, the Ipod Nano also comes with a built-in radio.

Besides releasing the latest Ipod Nano, Apple also released a series of products concerning Ipod such as more colour choices for Ipod Shuffe, more space and more games for Ipod Touch etc. To top it up, Apple also reduced the price for their products, which is an extra incentive for people to get an Ipod. Since 2001, Apple regularly releases new products on September every year, in conjunction with the coming festivals such as Christmas and Halloween.

Pros and Cons of PSP Go

Sony recently released a new version of PSP called the PSP Go. Looks like they haven't given up trying to conquer the gaming console market currently dominated by Nintendo DS / DSi for its large series of games. With a different look, more compact size, internal memory and no UMD drive, lots of teenagers were spoiled for choice whether to buy a PSP 3000, Nintendo DS / DSi or the new PSP Go. Some of the changes to the PSP Go's features were great, while some other changes were useless, even damaging. Lets look at the pros and cons of PSP Go.
